The Aruba Airport is best known as Queen Beatrix International Airport, which is the airport serving the Happy Island. The Aruba Airport code is AUA.
It receives flights from throughout the Caribbean, North America, Central and South America and Europe. serving about 2 million passengers.
One very interesting fact about the Aruba airport, especially for passengers traveling to USA, is that it has a dedicated terminal for US Departures which has its own US Immigration and Customs personnel in it. Therefore, the arrival to the US will be nothing but a domestic flight, as immigration and US customs procedures are performed before leaving Aruba.
Buses, minibuses and taxis connect the airport with the city. The bus service is provided by the carrier of Aruba, Arubus. The taxi and buses are close to the site.
Crossing the arrivals hall of the terminal is located the car rental offices of the most recognized companies (Hertz, Avis, Alamo, Amigo, Dollar, Econo Car, Budget, Economy Car, National, Thrifty).
The airport also offers bank, ATMs, currency exchange offices, post office, public telephones and internet access Wi-Fi.
Shopping – several shops, including duty-free (free shops), souvenirs, snuff and spirits, perfumes and cosmetics, optics, among others.
Parking – Queen Beatrix Airport in Aruba has parking lots near the terminal building with areas for short and long. It has an area for loading and unloading of passengers immediately exit the terminal building. You have places reserved for disabled. By the way, if you are going to use the Airport parking, you will need local coins to pay for the parking machine. Credit cards payment is not active yet.
